About Proactice

Brad Prince founded Proactive Infrastructure Consulting in 2015 to provide Project Management, Design Management, Owner’s Engineer, and Technical Advisory Services to consulting firms, contractors, and owners.

We focus primarily on large, complex, multidisciplinary projects involving the transport of people and goods via roads, rail, and port infrastructure. Many of our projects involve design-build or other forms of project delivery.

We specialize in leading and coordinating numerous technical staff, specialty consultants, and construction contractors throughout all stages of a project from initiation to closing. We have proven experience overseeing the development of engineering designs, construction drawings and construction staging plans; preparation of project execution plans, safe work plans, quality management plans, and project definition reports for the purpose of obtaining project funding; preparation of tender documents and technical specifications; procurement; contract management and administration; interaction with project stakeholders including local businesses, the public, and First Nations; project cost control; project risk assessments and risk management; and project scheduling. Our strengths in communication, organization, and planning enable us to manage the diverse talents of a large project team towards highly-effective results.

Typical roles that we fulfill on major infrastructure projects include:
  • Owner’s Project Manager or Project Director for both Project Development and Project Implementation Phases;
  • Design Manager for either the contractor or the consultant on a Design-Build or P3 Project Team;
  • Owner’s Engineer as part of an engineering consultant’s project team on a Design-Build, P3, or other complex multi-disciplined project; or
  • Technical Advisor for owners, consultants, contractors, or concessionaires on all types of projects.

Example Technical Advisory services include preparation of bid documents, technical specifications, and project plans; “Red Team” review of proposals; independent certification of contractor progress draws; leading Value Engineering or Risk Management workshops; project controls services; constructability reviews; and development of project implementation strategies.
